Just wondering what is the correct way to remove the hand guard retaining ring from a M96 swede. It appears that it may be done two ways.
The first way would be to remove the pin at the front of the (rear) sight. And the second choice would be to remove the screw that is facing up at the top of the barrel, also in the rear sight.
Are either of these okay to remove the ring?? Thought I'd ask after once having an "incident" with a screw on a pistol.
