Hey folks, after spending some time on Google I figured I would ask the fine folks here.

A rifle I am building will have the JP Supermatch barrel with a thermal dissipation, the required internal diameter is in the very least 1.5inches (gas block needs 1.4 minimum, and I'd rather it not scrape the entire way on).

Want the handguard to be M-Lok (eliminates the JP rail system, great as it is)
Would like at least 17 or 18 inches of rail up top.

The Faxon carbon fiber at 17" and light weight is great, but a bit pricey.
Midwest Industries SP series fits the bill but is not available in Canada (at least not from any dealers I called).
Aero Precision Quantum almost works, but maxes out at 15".

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

B.A.D from RDSC maybe?
Brownells sells Midwest Handguards as well.

Thanks man, the problems are as follows though:

1. Brownells carries the Midwest, but, only up to 15"
2. The Faxon is $560+tax (ouch?)
3. The B.A.D. handguards have a much smaller internal diameter :(

You can only have so big a internal diameter and still have a top rail at a normal height. There probably isn't anything that fits your requirements and is less than $500. I've run across this problem myself. If you want a big internal diameter and long handguard, you'll probably have to buy something without a top rail. If the top rail at normal height is a must, then end the handguard before the gas block (11" ish).

I have the Faxon 15" carbon fiber handguard on my ATRS MS for hunting and I like it. Large internal diameter, light and doesn't suck the heat out of your hand quite as fast a aluminum handgaurd while out in the bush.

The MI is $270 from Wolverine, will probably just go down that path, it has the clearance and at half the price of the Faxon, albeit at double the weight lol

Aero M4E1 quad rail might be another option. It has rail sections machined at the end. Max length 15" though. On sale at Saskatoon Gun Works.

When you say 17-18" of rail up top, does that include the upper receiver?

I just want the maximum possible barrel coverage, on a 20" barrel I can live with 2 or 3 inches exposed, just don't want more.
