Hello all,
Relatively new to handguns, picked up a couple of little .22 semis over the last couple years and have had fun. Now, think I'd like to buy a centerfire. I have no idea as to which brand/caliber to buy. There must be some brand/caliber that I can buy where I can't possibly go wrong? I do reload rifle so I'm assuming reloading for handguns isn't that much different?? As to budget, something used for around $500 or cheaper sounds about right for me. Any suggestions, thanks.

Glock 17 9mm

can't go wrong, cheap to feed (comparatively of course), easy to reload for.

i believe i pay $8 a box (high side) reloading with jacketed.

Yep 9mm is the only way to go at first. Glocks are nice and available aand lots of aftermaarket parts and service. Rugar SR9 is nice, cheap too if you can find one. M&P9 has a decent following as well
