Handgun ammo comparison

I suppose that is what I am looking for, I would like to find information about knock down power, felt recoil, speeds, energy that sort of stuff. Just trying to learn a little bit more about handguns in general.
 
A reloading manual is a good reference for velocities and energy statistics in various calibres.... as well as the varying weight projectiles within specific calibres.You could also look at ammo manufacturers websites ( Hornady comes to mind, also Winchester, Federal and Remington) and check their ballistics charts that are linked to each of their respective loads.
