good day gentlemen / ladies(if any),

i am a shotgun enthusiast and would like to get into hand guns aswell..i am planning to have some fun with ipsc and also have the ability to take the hand gun to the cottage/crown land etc..

can some one please advise what is the best way to convert a non-restricted pal to restricted..i have heard the best route is to get a trappers license and then you can take the firearm with you anywhere...rather than joining a club and getting an att...i find the att option only allows you to take to the club and back...

i would appreciate answers from your real life experiences..

thanks

Nope, won't happen. Not legal. Use of handguns are allowed ONLY in CFO authorized ranges.

Take the restricted safety course and test (or challenge the test only)

Nope, only authorized ranges. Trappers are allowed to carry, but it is restricted to the areas they are working in. Depends on the province.
I'm not a trapper, so I don't know all the ins and outs of it.

Judging by your questions; are you sure you want to own handguns and or be licenced to carry? There is more responsibility to ownership then just having them.
