How does this work with retailers . So they sell out what handguns they have in stock and some retailers are saying they will be restocking . Where are those guns presently , at the Distributors they buy from ?
Does each retailer have a quota that they are allowed but just don’t have them all stocked in their shop?
If this handgun freeze does not come into effect until it is passed through Parliment and the Senate is it a possible OIC that prevents them from ordering guns in that they may be stuck with ?

Please explain .
Thanks

It is likely either the distributor or manufacturer has them in stock available but they would need to be imported as I suspect they are selling faster then they can ship...
Anything in stock is likely gone but if its in stock at the manufacturer im sure its not the biggest deal for an importer to bring it in outside of shipping times and cost...

As for quotas i have no idea but before the current chaos the restricted market was a fairly niche market as its so "restricted" so while the dealers kept some on hand it wasnt the majority of their inventory... one thing i heard today was about 10-15% of a guns stores sales were handguns...

When the demand suddenly shifts to 90% of that inventory no dealer would prepared....

Yes...even the thought of a freeze could cool imports as stores may be stuck with it as even shipping them back to the manufacturer could be expensive and there is no reason for the manufacturer to eat the cost... if we get into summer and it looks like it will go to fall then i would expect the dealers to bring more in personally...
