Is it just me or does there appear to be an abundance of pistols now available form online retailers especially in the last week?

I would even say there is a better selection of different brands now compared to before the announcement.

Prices have increased, which is understandable and expected given the changing environment.

Retailers/distributors seems to be bringing in a lot of inventory, this seems quite risky to me.

I am not saying all retailers have lots of product, but some do. Do they know something we don't?

The message in early June was get them while you can. Has something changed?

It looks like there is a lot more of the more common/ in demand stuff and a lot less of the more novelty/ specialized stuff. I'm sure most of it is gonna sell. People are still buying handguns.

After 60,000+ transfer initiations in the last 6 weeks, I'm sure a lot of people can't afford to panic-buy much more. That, mixed with the fact that there's already a massive backlog on transfers... especially if you're in Ontario - I would venture to say it's risky to even buy one at this point with what I've heard is an 8+ week wait time.

But yeah, guns like the Glock 17 and 48 at Arms East have been sitting there at great prices for most of the week, and there are still douche-canoes trying to scalp them on the EE. Looks like people's pockets are empty, or they're worried about the transfer approval timeline.

Here's hoping, initiated transfers will continue after the freeze according to CSAAA. I think I read it in the marstar forum. But who knows. My buying spree is coming to an end due to those risks. These buys still needs to be arriving by mail from all over Canada and sooner or later canada post will screw something up. Hasn't happened yet and hope not in the near future when it matters the most.

Agree lots of common/lower end brands. But find me a 5” Colt-quality 1911 in 45 acp anywhere.

I think supply is also catching up with demand.

I spoke with a retailer there is/has been stock arriving and they are filling orders.
I understood the conversation that orders placed have stock, what's being listed is current and sales should be started so that the process can be completed.
Their site had stock which is quickly changing.

I wouldn't count on a big rebound of stock and getting the needed papers in order.

I wouldn't want to have an order partially completed as this gets closer, order now.

I think it depends on the retailer's policy.

If there is say a 25% restocking fee, I might gamble one more purchase. If it is store credit only, I don't think I would chance it.

On the other hand, I am not sure the legislation will be implemented. The Liberals have more pressing issues to deal with in the fall.

I might make one more purchase this week.
