This may of been discussed before, but I hear a lot about the saying of "handgun or handsgun". Am I committing a sin by using two hands when I'm shooting 20m targets for leisure at the range. I kind of suck when I use one hand (could be an age thing or something), but I can get a pretty decent grouping when I use two hands. I feel like saying F*#k you to the people that insist on bringing this up.

I feel like saying F*#k you to the people that insist on bringing this up.not at all- a lot of us use 2 hands- both weaver and isocoles ( sp?)stances and a lot of the heavier caliber ( not necessairly magnum) require both hands-just look at the amount of waver you get with 1 hand vs 2- so you go ahead and use both hands and don't listen to the"others" - the bottom line is to put holes in the target and do whatever feels comfortable to do it
It would seem that the "target shooting purists" prefer the one-handed handgun shooting style, whereas "combat shooters" (whether real-life or gamers) prefer a two-handed style.
You won't win IPSC shooting one-handed, and you can't play the target game with a two-handed style.
Neither is "right".......... pick your game, and play by it's rules.

I dare you to find a LE or Mil organization that teaches one hand ONLY techniques not to mention reputable shooting schools (Sig arms etc). Sure it is good to practice with one hand to simulate injury etc or as a skill shot.
As far as I can see one the duelling style of shooting (I've seen some guys have their non dominant hand behind their backs) is a dated inferior style that severly limits the shooters capabilities.

I use two hands all the time, and I LOVE IT. I get myself in a nice tactical stance with my large frame auto-loader.....and dump 10-shot clips all center mass at 25 yards.

It comes from the rules of competition, essentially. You aren't allowed to shoot bullseye (NRA or ISSF, for instance) with two hands. So those that shoot bullseye see two-handed shooting as "against their rules." You wouldn't be allowed to do it when shooting their targets under their rules. On the other hand, if you are shooting defensive pistol (PPC, IPSC or IDPA, for instance), two-handed shooting is the norm (although one-handed and/or weak-hand shooting can still be a requirement at certain times even there). So they wouldn't look twice at someone shooting with both hands. They do it all of the time.
It only becomes an issue for you if you plan to compete in a discipline, or shoot with a group within that discipline. Then you have to follow their rules to compete or keep them happy. Other than that, it's their problem, not yours.
