I checked the lame search on this site and nothing. I remember beating the hell out of an M1 carbine rear sight ' the proper direction, with a hammer and drift. Gave up. Never bought the tool. Looking on YouTube there are lots of rear sight removal tools . What do you folks use or not recommend ,besides the hammer method.

I use to use a hammer and brass drift, too. Got tired of beating the crap out of my guns - some of the sights are really tight. Got a bit of a deal on a Glock (only) sight removal tool, from one of the guys on here - and also a "generic" one from another guy on here, made by Wheeler Engineering - it'll do pretty much any sight. Not cheap, but now that I have it and have used it, I'm not upset about the money I spent.

beating on a night sight w/ a punch & hammer will diminish it's longevity to months instead of decades.
