Handgun scope recommendations

So I was curious about single shot Contender like pistols with a scope for sights.

1) What is an appropriate eye relief to shoot with ?
2) What are some make/model suggestions that won't break the bank ?

I just mounted a 2x20 Burris on my TC. I bought it used for 150. Not sure the eye relief but what feels natural its focused.
