Hi everyone,
I've had the idea to start this thread for a while. Hopefully people find it helpful.
I live in a small, remote town with a local gun store that has a pretty decent selection of handguns for its size, but I still don't have many opportunities to handle everything I would like to and even fewer opportunities to actually shoot all the guns I would like to. So I end up buying a lot of guns online sight unseen to try them out. Some I like and some don't fit my hand very well so I put them back into the ever flowing current of life that is the EE. I enjoy trying out new guns but it is a time consuming and expensive process of trial and error.
Hearing about a new (to me) gun and reading about it on the internet only goes so far, I find that I get a better impression if I can find a picture of the new gun next to a gun I'm already familiar with. So below you will find some pictures of various guns I have owned next to one another. Most of the pictures have the guns placed top-of-slide to top-of-slide, sort of mirroring one another. If I could only pick one comparative position, (which I did), in my experience this perspective has worked best for me but your mileage may vary.
Anyway, hopefully people like myself with limited exposure options can use this thread to learn a few things and maybe even post requests. "Hi GGN! I'm thinking about picking up a .44 automag. Can someone post a picture of theirs next to a J-frame snubby so I can get a better idea of difference in barrel length?" Or something to that effect.
Happy and safe shooting everyone!
