I understand that heavier guns will have less perceived recoil, therefore quicker follow-up shots, and lighter guns are quicker to accelerate/decelerate during transitions.
And most of the times during the course of an action shooting stage, the advantages and disadvantages average each either out.

However, has anyone done any objective testing on how pistol weight affects draw times, transitions, or even reloads?

Appreciate any ideas or input,

Different people have different preferences. I shoot ipsc production with cz75 shadow and one of my friends shoots glock he loves his and i love mine(i also have glock17 as back up and also shoot it) Now i can shoot both but just like cz better. So weigh of guns does not come into play for us, Only how they "feel".

Now it depends the division you are looking to compete in. Open has some crazy guns with all the bells and wisles that have no recoil.

I would say you need to pick the gun that fits you and go with that.
