Holy cow......after not shoot'n a gun since mid- late July, prior to my ankle breaking....
Last night, I finally shot my 9mm & .45 standing on my own..(no crucches
) off a shooting bench.
Boy...did i feel like a newbie ! My handling of the guns was just fine, but my shooting ? I was taking long to get the trigger to break & go Bang
also a little flinching..not too much, but some..just the same.
I did manage to keep all rounds on the paper
(approx. 16" bullseye square target) at approx. 20-ish yards...I actually didn't count them....., but there were a lot of holes...yah i dropped 50 of each calibre on one paper...so who really knows
...anyways.... i caught myself..restart my breathing....resetting my finger and starting pull over again, etc.... just not smooth...no bang bang bang,
like usual.
Wow, what a wake up call & reminder of how important it is to keep shoot'n / practicing on a regular basis, especially if you're shoot'n matches, as you will shoot crappy & off your game.
I'll still be limping at a few upcoming ipsc matches I'm signed up for.....but it's not my ankle handicap l have to worry about......it's my shoot'n handicap that's surprising
I'm shoot'n these matches for fun
and to slowly get back into form...but still...it was just a wake up call of how important continuous shoot'n is.
So..if you have the time to get out and shoot....do so...keep in form & most of all HAVE FUN

See ya'll soon
