Handy stain packets for small jobs.

I was down at the home center looking for some stain to re-stain the inside of a stock that I'd free floated, when I came across these:

The perfect size! I bought two, tested them on a spot, and the one I chose had enough in it (1.3mL) to do the barrel channel twice, with some left over.

The price? $0.69 each. Comes in 21 shades.

Just thought I'd pass that on.

The inside of a stock doesn't really need staining. The barrel channel does need to be sealed though. If you haven't glass bedded the action, seal it too.

And yes, it will be sealed once the stain dries.

Maybe I should start putting all of our left over stain from the shop into pint cans and sell them as Stock Staining Kits
