Some days just workout exceptional, take this past Monday for the example. I stopped by the local gun store to purchase in Butler Creek caps for an older scope I’m putting on a rifle. While browsing their consignment section I see a good looking side-by-side. I inquired as to what gauge and model it was, ended up being a 16 gauge Winchester model 24. Overall condition is definitely good and the ticket indicated that it came with three boxes of ammo. Price seemed fair so I bought it. I will refer to it as my 6 1/2 pound 2 x 4
.
So then, as the guy whom is helping me is doing all the transfer information, I noticed a Browning auto five in the rack. I ask what gauge it is, and the clerk responded it’s a 20 gauge. I asked to take a look at it and overall it’s definitely in very good condition for an older auto five. I made an offer so they phoned the owner who came back with a fair counter offer, so I bought that too
. I take it home and it’s in excellent mechanical shape and I find out that it’s a 1966 model and has a factory modified choke barrel. Some days it is most definitely worth chewing through the leather straps
