With low numbers of jr shooters and young adults in clays games.

Why do most dads not include their kids in shooting?

Never had any kids of my own but introduced several to the shooting sports over the years, either neighbours and/or girlfriends kids and what I found was the ones younger than teenagers were always excited to go but once they reached the teen years? Well to put it bluntly if it was something they could not eat or #### they were not interested.

Started my son when he was seven. He's 31 now and our fathers day tradition is he takes me out for a day of clays . He uses the 1100 I gifted him when he was a kid. Best day of the year for me.

I've introduced my youngish adult kids to clay shooting and while they enjoy it, they can neither afford the time or money to take it up.
It's come down to a couple of family events a year but still a lot of fun when they happen.

My kids both shoot. My son (8) loves it, my daughter (10) likes it when she's there but doesn't want to come too often or for very long. .22's - rifle and handgun, and son shooting static targets with shotgun and pigeon sniping with a PCP pellet gun. He's quite a little hunter too - geese, turkeys and deer. I'm hoping to start him on clays as soon as I get my hands on a suitable gun (looking for a 28ga 1100).
