Hard Chrome - R.K. Custom Gunsmithing

Never seen his chrome work but have seen his bluing and it is top notch along with any other work he has done for me and my friends.
Rodger is a good guy ans a very good gunsmith.
 
I have been thinking about hard chroming at least one of my 1911's. I guess I'll contact Rodger.

Does anyone know if hardchrome can be refinished? Even hardchrome will start to show signs of wear after a while. Is it possible to get it re-coated?
How is that done?
 
Hard chrome reached Rc 69 -72.
This is a very durable and slippery surface.
I doubt if you ever need to re-chrome again,
but if you want the chrome off, it can be done.

Hard chrome is what is on Hyd cylinder rods. No amount of abuse you can give it by hand is going to wear through it. Keep in mind though it can be put on in different thicknesses.

the hard chrome job looks factory perfect. good price(see website) and superfast turnaround. highly recommend his work and i will be sending more work his way..
