I just finished my AR build and I wanted a hard case that was easier to lug around in my trunk than a standard length gun case. I was looking at the Flambeaus Tactical Case, but it is kind of thin. I like the looks of the Plano hard case that is a copy of the Pelican cases, but I do not like the pluck foam in them. When I was looking, I found 3 carbine length rifles I could stick in this case, so I would prefer a case with the egg carton type foam so that it is not specific to one gun.
Does anyone have any ideas? This is going to be a gift from my father, so I do not want any expensive cases; the Plano is about as expensive as I would go.
