Hey Guys for those Alberts Residents that are getting up in there Prioirity and thinking about drawing for Elk in the Blackfoot let me Tell you!!!!

To start out the Blackfoot Grazing lease is a foot, Bicycle and horse access only

Oct 31 Headed in to do some pre scouting I walked and Biked approximaly 35KM spotted around 12 Elk Seemed to good alot of hills and hard work there was only about 2" of snow on the ground so it was perfect for checking out tracks and game trails. Headed out had a great plan for the next morning.

Nov 1 the Opener Sun rise was at 8:30am I left my truck on my bike at 5:30 to get into my spot I had found the day before I got all the way in there just to see another group of hunters in the same spot as me so I had to go try and scramble and find another spot for Sun Up with No luck, Did I mention it was a severe blizzard that day we got 6" of fresh snow at this point I was 13Km from my truck we hiked and pushed our bikes through the snow for the rest of the day bumped a few cow elk No Bulls. we headed out and rested for the night.

Nov 2 Got into another nice looking area finally No other hunter crawled over a hill 3 cows NO Bull started walking over another hill and there he was 256Yards away nice 5x5 at this point id take whatever lined up on this nice bull didnt really relize he was standing behind some small brush fired the Bull runs Keep in mind I'm shooting a 300RUM he should have dropped go look no sign excpet the top of a tree snapped off GRRRRRRRRRR... I had the opertunity at a great bull a blew it so upset at my self but hey thats hunting. This was 8:15 in the morning now what its 10hrs till sunset so we pushed bush and hiked all day no elk so frustrated.

Nov3 Hiked all day no luck again.

So here I sit looking at my calander and my sore legs just waiting to get in there this weekend to hopefully get some redemtion

Here are a couple pics enjoy so we estimated over 4 days we hiked and biked over 90KM this hunt is not for the faint of Heart.

Rest assured that when you do get one (and you will you have put the work in) that it will be all the more rewarding. It will be a hunt you will remember for the rest of your life.
