Not sure if this should be here or in gunsmithing . Feel free to move if it in the wrong place. I've had a harris ultra light bipod given to me. I see here that everyone is using quick disconnect sling swivel as a mount. However I dont see any way of attaching it. Mine has the legs attatched to a curved plate with a square hole in it . There are also several screw holes in the plate but no attaching points for the quick disconnect. By the looks of it the last own er had it mounted directly to his forestock. Am I missing something , Is the bipod missing parts,Or does this model have a different mounting system? Sorry I cant do pics.

Related question; Is there a significant advantage to Harris bipods vs generic? It's not for a battle rifle, but since we're on the subject. Oh, and it's got a sling button mount - not that I have an adversion to drilling the synthetic stock for a short rail.

Yes, without debating the design itself, Harris is good quality. Other's may copy their design, but lesser priced copies are typically of inferior quality. Lighter gauge metal or cheaper aluminum that bends and winds up crooked, bent or broken.

Get a qd stud and a hocky helmet repair kit. Put the mount on the inside of the gas port whole and then the qd stud on the out side and sandwich the two of them between the stock. I am out right now or I would post some pic's on how to do this.

Here is the pic's of what I did...
