Has anybody ever successfully mounted a flash hider on a newer Mini 14?

If anybody ever has ever mounted a flash hider on a newer model mini 14, I would be interested in what you used (Flash hider type, tools, etc.), and how you did it.

I would like to try the same thing on my mini.

I threaded the end of the barrel and put on a Vortex flash hider. If your mini is a 580 series you have to have the front sight moved back slightly on the barrel.

That shoud work, but I will need to either pay a lot of cash to a gunsmith, or I would have to get my dad's machine shop working again.

Mine, unfortunately, is the newer 580 series, and the post-2003 version.
