Has anyone been able to install a curved mainspring housing on their Norinco NP-29?

Loving the gun but I guess my palms aren't quite right for a straight mainspring housing.

In disassembling the pistol I noticed that he backstrap/mainspring housing on the NP-29 is non standard - the tip of the mainspring sits inside a little spring loaded cup within the housing - I've not seen this on conventional 1911's and makes me wonder how difficult it would be to find a compatible part.

Has anyone installed the swell-grip mainspring housing successfully on their NP-29?

yah, all the 1911's i've had or seen are that way. The tail of the hammer extension thingy sits on the cup within the mainspring housing, totally normal.

He has a Springfield MSH....they are a little different, there is no retaining pin, you have to #### the hammer, stick an Allen key or something similar in size to retain the plunger cup, then disassemble.
