Has anyone else removed the decocker from a Baby eagle?

Thank god my guns have their safeties intact, so that when I have accidental discharge, and shoot somebody, rainbows and butterflies will come out of the hole in them w:h:

Seriously?

How's about he just follows the fundamentals of safe firearm handling, and it doesn't matter if he has no manual safety and a 3 oz trigger. If he only puts his finger on the trigger when he's sure of his target and beyond, treats it as always being loaded, and doesn't point it anything he isn't willing to destroy, I'd be just fine shooting right next to him.

While your comments are valid, and certainly apply to all firearms, just remember that we are talking about an individual that has deliberately disconnected a safety device on a firearm.

We both know that accidents (like sh*t) happens, even with the best of due diligence. Should that be the case, and the gun was accidentally discharged, especially if an injury resulted, there would obviously be a police investigation, with the gun in question being seized and sent for examination.

Under normal circumstances, with a properly working firearm, and due diligence having been used by the shooter, there is a good likelihood that no criminal charges would be filed, even though a civil suit may be pursued.

On the other hand, with this particular weapon with it's safety removed, even with the application of all normal safety precautions by the shooter, the fact that the gun had been tampered with and rendered unable to be properly safed, would give the police reasonable and probable grounds to lay a charge of criminal negligence. Words like deliberate, malicious and negligence, would certainly appear in the court transcripts. I have laid similar charges myself over the years, so I know of what I speak.

Based on what we already know, the case should be an easy one for the Crown, with a conviction most likely registered. Our shooter will, in all likelihood, go to jail. The victim and/or his family will have commenced with a civil suit, and our shooter, once released from prison, will be making considerable financial contributions to the victim's early retirement fund for many years into the future.

And, in my opinion, worst of all, with all the media attention that this case would have generated, all gun owners/shooters/hunters will be tarred with the same brush, and Windy will have been given more ammunition to use against us.

And all this because an individual couldn't get a proper grip on his gun.

Our man should try the good suggestions that the other guys gave him; try adjusting his grip on the gun when shooting, try different grips on the gun itself, or even sell the gun and get one more suitable for his hands.

But most importantly, and for his own sake, PUT THE F*CKING SAFETY BACK ON THE GUN.
