Has anyone had any custom work done to there Kimber 8400 if did it affect anything

I was going to send mine to the shop to flute the barrel and to do something with the bolt handle . I have heard rumors about this being done and the gun never shooting the same . Does anyone have any info

Shouldn't make any difference of done well.

FWIW, Hill Country Rifles a big customizing/accurizing outfit from Texas has stopped doing accurizing work on Kimbers because the results are often mixed. I had a Kimber that was very accurate, but apparently there are also a fair number that aren't.

I assume you are doing this to save weight, I would question how much you actually shave off on either the bolt or barrel safely.

its always nice to have something different too.

Those Kimber barrels seem pretty thin to start with though.
