looking into a 6.5 rifle that i can play with and start practicing for F class matches and overall fun at 100, 200, 300. (max range i have a membership to)

so far im looking into all in 6.5 (i like the low recoil and high accuracy)

tikka t3x tac
tikka t3x then customize as i see fit
savage stealth
savage stealth evolution
ruger precision gen 2

just seeing if anyone has shot these rifles and can help me out with what to look furthur into?

my bias is i love savage rifles and their triggers are awesome

If your long term interest is F class, start with a Savage FTR or BR variant. These will be single shot actions with decent stocks, long barrels and in chamberings that will help your efforts.

When you get serious, you can spin on a quality prefit match barrel and go head to head anywhere.

In general, the 308 FTR variant is the most competitive even with the factory barrel... ready for a quality bipod and rear bag.

If you are just wanting to learn loading, shooting and basic wind reading, the 6BR version is a gem. There is a 6.5-284 but that is a bit much for the SR practise and really hard on barrels.

Tactical rifles have their place but you are adding gear that will not help you long term in the F class game. If you want to have a plinker, PRS and F class type rifle, then sure but it will be a compromise for it all.

Similar money to the rifles you are asking about but SOOO much further towards being F class capable.
