Has anyone had this issue with the Norinco ammo?

I don't doubt Bcvikings findings.

I am just curious if he got a bad batch. Anyone else want to do the same tests and post their data so we can get a broad assessment of this ammo?

Mine is head stamped CJ 96.

Machman, next time I see you I'll give you all the rounds I have left over. 8 )

C'mon up and lets hit the local range. I was out today, shooting the copperwash and hitting the 300M gong with iron sights. No FTFs, no split cases, no issues. I too wonder if there was (a) an inferior batch of ammo, or (b) some especially finicky Norinco rifles out there.

I've been meaning to go on a little road trip. I remember you saying that there is a milsurp shoot once a month somewhere on the Island, any more info you can give me? As for coming to PA, probably won't happen till after June as I'm doing the tough mudder up in Whistler and that will drain the ol' bank account for a while. I will take you up on that offer soon though. Whatever happened to forming a M1A group with that wacko Rocket Surgery?

Also, I'll shoot more of that ammo to see if it's just a bad box. If I don't post anything after this it means that one of the rounds blew up my rifle and me with it. Avenge me if that's the case. Hahah.

Now now boys, settle down, or come up to the Parksville Qualicum Fish and Game club for their 'Military Rifle Fun Shoot', every third Saturday. This month (May 2012)that would be on the 19th, 9:30-noon. The range has a website with an event calendar which I'll post the website for years from now when someone resurrects this thread: ww w.pqfg.com

Mike, I don't think I can make it this month either as I have to work this Saturday. Next open date I have is July. Maybe Rocket and I can swing up then. (a day before and shoot the hell out of our M1As first?)

Normally I'd be out of town in June but I bailed on my commitments and I should be good to go
