Has anyone ever tried the brakes made by Spearhead Machine? Thinking specifically of their AR-10 brake. If so, what did you think?

Would like to give them a shot and support Canadian manufacturers, and their prices are competitive, but would like some firsthand info from users.

Cheers!

I have personally not used them but seen quite a few on the firing line. Users seemed happy and the quality, fit and finish, is evident. The Chou brothers are not new to precision rifles and build very nice stuff.

Thanks Longstud!

I have a few of their brakes, very nice fit and finish.

I only just got around to using them and I am super impressed with what I saw down range. I installed a three gill on my heavy barreled .223 set ups and my groups are very noticeably smaller. I have had two other higher end brakes on these guns and there is no question I will be staying with the Spearheads.

Have not had the chance to try one out on other calibers yet, I do have the ar-10 brake on a Ruger Ranch 762x39 and on the .223 that I swapped out from radial muzzle brakes that caused splash back in the face, may have the chance in the next few days to try those out

I put one of Spearhead Machine's 4 baffle radical brakes on my lever 45-70 which has a 12.5" barrel...

It resulted in a fair amount of recoil reduction.

Would recommend!

I have several Heathens from InsiteArms which is also CanCon.

I really like them.

Looking at the selftiming brakes from spearhead, they are hard to tell apart.

I also have several “radial brakes” and I’m not a fan of any of them. Basically “loudeners”.

Not really worth it imo. Especially on lighter cals.
