Has anyone tried Luminescent paint in lieu of fancy tritium sights?

Just bought another Norc, and I like the shape of the sights, but the plain white paint on them just doesn't cut it.

Rather than try and replace the sights altogether, which I'm told for the NP 22 doesn't work very well anyways, I was thinking if I could get some luminescent paint that would do the same job.

I wasn't interested in cheap glow in the dark paint, or glow stick juice because it wears out, and I would need to reapply it often. If I had to reapply every few years that wouldn't be so bad.

Has anyone looked at this or figured it out. If so, where do you get it, how much, and procedure did you use for application?

Thanks folks.

You can buy fluorescent sight paint at most gun shops. I filed the hook off the front sight on my Ruger MK2 and used orange on the flat face. Excellent visibility.
If you can't find the paint, get some really bright nail polish. Should do the same job.
I plan to do the same to my Norc 1911. I noticed the sights aren't very visible in the light at my range.

Not exactly, but I do paint my front posts orange with model paint.

I find it lasts about 3 months on a user gun but for me that might mean the gun's been fired 2000 times, pulled out of the holster a thousand times, banged around in my gun bag with holster and mags...

For most guys you might only have to apply it every few years.

Ebay has plenty of nail polish. And Glow-on gunsight paint.

Glow-on paint is readily available in the US and there are no shipping restrictions.
Just don't get the superbright one if you shoot in low light 'cause it would impair your vision.

Or you can try a Canadian store http://www.readysetglo.com

I use orange luminescent fishing lure paint on my front site for IDPA right now. It aint pretty but it works :)

I had one of my friends of the female persuasion pick up some hot pink nail polish for me...........I think I felt that parts would drop off if I picked it up myself :) It works really well in certian conditions, in others all you can see is the post; so sometimes no worse, but often way better.
