Does anyone have any actual useage stories for 130gr Nosler Ballistic Tips in a 270 Weatherby?
I have tried a few different bullets in my bee, and the 130gr with 7828 is screaming along and shoots 1/2 inch groups with this bullet, but I have not used ballistic tips at weatherby speeds before.
Use for deer, moose, and bighorn sheep.
Not interested in stories of BT blowing up on deer if you actually have not witnessed it your self. Kindof tired of hearing all these stories, but it seams always to a be a buddy told them, not first hand knowledge.
I have shot a pile of game with 100gr 25cal BT out of my 25-06 and never once had a issue, and 180gr out of my 8mag(before they were discontinued) but the old Weatherby is screaming them out there at around 3400fps

I used it some, its very effective in a mostly blowing up huge entrance hole with steam rolling out of it sort of way. I wouldn't do moose as a plan A.

If your rifle shoots the 130 BT well you can hedge your bets with the 130 Accubond. I've sort of settled on the 140 Accubond in one and the 130 Swift S11 in the other.

I used it one time on a black bear at about 200 yards. Started out at a tad over 3500 fps it killed the bear, but most of the front was terribly bloodshot.

Never used it again, and certainly would not use it on moose. The 130 Partitions and 150 A Frames are the real ticket in the 270 Wby.

Thanks Dogleg,
Exactly what I was looking for is someone that has actually shot game with them.
I appreciate the real world experience.
