Has anyone used a Norinco AR15 for competitions?

Since I have heard nothing but positives with regards to these I was just curious as to whether anyone has ever used a Norinco M4/311 in competitive shooting. I know the pistols (1911 copy) have been used so I thought maybe these would as well.

I am in the market of purchasing one of these (m4) form Badger arms and can't wait.
 
What kind of competitive shooting? Various competitions have varying requirements for precision of accuracy. I doubt they shoot minute of angle or better as would an AR15 with a quality heavy barrel, but they might shoot well enough to suffice for a shooting sport where much less accuracy is sufficient.

I have shot one. I would not own one if you gave it to me or paid me. I like well made firearms. A Norc does not even come close to Noveske or Colt for example.

There is a reason they are 699.99.

Some people love and shot them, which is fine. Buyer beware. Make sure you know what your buying.

If you want to compete and there is accuracy involved pass on the Norc.

What the Norc has done is boosted numbers in AR15 ownership due to the low cost which is good. More people that own AR's the better.
 
I can hit what I want to hit and I have never, ever, had a jam in a Norc product - rifles and handguns (in excess of 10,000 rounds between 1911's and M4 combined) The rifles shoot better than say a Mini14 or AK47 and the handguns will put all of their rounds through a fist sized hole at 25 yards - certainly reasonable. The people who own them aren't complaining, the people that don't own them are - pretty much says it all.
OP- there was mention of someone shooting a Norc at one of Hungry's CQB matches - did pretty well I seem to remember (and he was out shooting - not saving up for a better rifle).

So you shot one,...Great, good for you.
Maybe you had a bad day, because my Norinco M4 is as accurate as any other
M4 of the same configuration!
 
Mine arrived yestderday. Will shoot it in the CQB match on Saturday. I may have to sight it in, there. I sure hope it works out of the box, because all I will be able to do t it is clean off the packing oil (light film) lube with CLP and hone the trigger a bit.

I made some 55 gr ammo for it. have not yet tried it. Hopefully it will chamber and go BANG.

Shooting at 25 yards against the clock is not an accuracy issue - it is a shooting and gun handling issue. I will shoot a Norc 1911, too, to make it an all-Norc event.

I love my M305 and CQB-a.

I know nothing about AR-15s, all I know is that Norc AR shoots extremely well, is reliable and those that I know who do know a lot about AR-15s say they are good.

Best investment I have ever made.

That is not true I guess, but it is up there.
 
Well, I just got my hands on one and will do some accuracy testing with it.

What do I expect? If it will shoot 1.5 MOA at 100yds with FMJ's I will consider it a success. If I can squeak anymore accuracy, I will be pleasantly surprised.

There is little doubt the Norc is every bit as accurate as the generic battle rattle AR. I have shot them in the past and there was no perceived difference. The owners also had zero issues with feed and function and that is what is critical in comp.

As to accuracy, that has everything to do with the barrel and little to with the rest of the alloy/plastic bits.

If this Norc only provides min of bad guy, it is a simple enough swap to put in a McGowen or Shilen match barrel and get it to rock.

For something like the BCRA sniper match where you have to hit small objects at 600m, you definitely want all the accuracy you can muster and maybe there isn't an AR that can get the job done as well as a bolt rig.

But for the CQB, 3gun type short range blast off, why wouldn't it work?
