Has Excell Bullets gone tits up?

Sorry, that sucks.

I have to confess, I've never been comfortable with him. While I respect that business is business, I resented the manner in which he drove a well respected IPSC shooter out of the business, only to supply inferior product.

Of his products, both cast and plated, they most often were at best adequate.

Thanks Sean.

His last email to me was July 7th when he indicated that he was in the USA and would send a cheque as soon as he was back.

I had assumed that almost 2 months would be sufficient.

T**s up? Literally... they go where they want. Sometimes they will actually fly straight. Good for remelting and casting your own, tho...

Well, if the company went under, no biggie... there's still plenty of Frontier for cast plated and Hornady bullets for FMJ's to be found. And at least those fly right. :)

Well it looks like Marty has pulled up stakes.

That means (unless he makes good) that he took EESA for the 25 pails (5 gallon) of lead that we "traded" to him in February. The deal was he would exchange the lead for bullets.

Small claims court?

Not if he has moved back to Italy.....However, I have to say that I have been shooting his bullets for a long time, and I`ve always found them to be rather good.....

Lead or plated?

I bought 5k plated in .40 cal. Worst pieces of crap I have ever seen. Jelly Bellies are more uniform.

my understanding is that he sold to some guy in Hamilton and that this new owner has purchased new equipment to make good quality bullets....I don't know who or where but I am sure he or she will surface soon..

Well his .40 stuff worked fine in the Tanfos because to polygonal bore would basically swage them down to a more or less uniform dimension, but the 9mm stuff sucked big-time since they were mostly under-sized.

Hey, anybody wanna buy 3000 rounds of 9mm bullets cheap?

My problem was the undersized bullets (about 1 in 10) You could actually push the bullets into the case after they were loaded...with very little force...no thanks...

Last time I was there, I was speechless at all the Parker Hale stuff he still had in those cabinets and drawers in the front room, but the place was a dump, there was so much dust and lead residue all over over everything. As far as the bullets went, I liked them for the price, the 124gr. 9mm plated worked great for shooting.

I've heard all 5 of the rumours about Marty, and I think, it's safe to say that at this point they are all rumours. Until Marty says something there is not much to go on.

BTW: I know he did lease out the front room of his shop a long time ago, and that it was empty for the last year or so.. maybe that was the sign that someone saw??

EDIT: I went by his shop this afternoon, and there is no "For Lease" sign on the storefront (there is one for the general building, but that could be any unit that is there).

I talked to the neighbour and according to him "Marty moved out of that unit a while back, We haven't seen him in a long time".

Also.. for a second there I thought it was April 1st. I looked in the window, and saw a paper that said "US Prices, Excel MATCH GRADE bullets" :) ;) ;)
