Hastings straight rifle barrel with choke tubes for Remington 1100.

24", 2.75" chamber, vent rib, 3 choke tubes.

Any idea on approximate value??

something sounds off about this barrel .first hastings made both smooth barrels with vent ribs and choke tubes and as far as I know thy are all three inch chambers .thy also make a slug barrel with full rifling and sights .I sold a vent rib hastings 28 inch with tubes for 200$ last year and my uncle still has his hastings rifled slug barrel with sights .he will never sell it as he got one of the first ones ever put out and just loves that barrel .I thing he payed over 400$ for that barrel over 20 years ago .D

If I remember correctly, about 20 or 25 years ago there was a short-lived fad of using straight-rifled barrels for trapshooting. There was a theory that even in a smooth bore barrel the wad would rotate some due to the direction in which the bore was polished. This would create flyers in the shot pattern, and decrease pattern density. The straight rifling would ensure the wad did not rotate, and make better patterns. Custom barrels could be ordered, and I think Hastings was one of them. The 2.75" chambers and vent rib suggest to me you might have one of these barrels.
I think it is pretty cool and I would look carefully before selling it off too cheap. If the barrel you have is one of these special trap barrels, it is pretty rare.
Hope this helps :~)

Tharjoe, I kind of remember something along those lines as well. But a 24" barrel seems a little short for trap.

Regardless, it will function fine for shot. Make a great upland barrel, or decoying ducks, or turkey. Easily $150.
