Possibly insane moment, so ....

The MPA comes with a thread protector for the muzzle. I silver solder that inside a tube on one end. The other end would consist of someone's chopped off shotgun barrel that's already threaded for chokes, also silver soldered. I'd also use a brake cylinder hone to remove any "step" in the transition from the thread protector to the section with the choke. Effectively, I end up with this, without the need to touch my Hatsan's barrel:

I am trying to figure out how silver soldering and dinking with a hone, is " without the need to touch my Hatsan's barrel ".

If I understand this right you plan on chopping the last few inches off a shotgun barrel that is already threaded for chokes and attaching said section to the MPA thread protector, meaning you can screw and unscrew this special choke-able section to your barrel? That's a weird and very convoluted plan.

Yup. The brake hone would be just to true up the extension. Nothing would touch the Hatsan barrel.

Alright. Got it.

Better off to make or have made, a screw on extension threaded at both ends for the appropriate use (chokes, barrel mating) and pretty much end up with something straight and smooth inside, which also matches the barrel diameter without having to deal with a step up or down, however small. Refer to the 'screw on' chokes in the DIY chokes thread, perhaps.
