I just got a KA mag extension for my Escort MPA and am having some issues installing it. On the mag extension there is a gap before the actual threads start, the gap is so big that I can't even start to thread the extension on.

It's a two piece design so I wanted to try to flip the part with the threads around but I can't get it apart. I went out and bought two strap wrenches but I've already broken one trying to get it loose. Any suggestions? I emailed the company I got it from last night and gave them a call today but nothing yet and I want to get this thing on so I can shoot it.

Edit: S&J got back to me at 8pm and within 24 hrs and are currently looking into it :)

The extension fits the MP-A and the conventional semi-autos with similar mag tubes. Hatsan uses a few different mag tubes on the various models so its important to know which one you have. Easy way to tell is the length, the MP-A and other models with the "correct" mag tube for using the KA-LE01 will have about 25-26mm of magazine tube protruding past the handguard ferrule. They also have an exposed unthreaded area between the threaded portion and the ferrule. I sincerely wish Hatsan would standardize some parts, it would make this sort of issue....well, a non-issue. Here is what the mag tube should look like

The thread pitch is correct for either model though. The mounting collar on the KA-LE01 can be shortened on a lathe and fitted to the other Escort/Hatsan models including the MP pump shotgun. On the next production run we will probably add a version for the pump and conventional (non-black/green) models.

No sir, not at the moment. Like I said, on the next production run we may offer them for models besides the MP-A

So there is currently no mag extension made my King armory that will fit my model shotgun? Can this be returned since it was sold as an Escort extension and doesn't fit my Escort (I understand it's a Hatsan issue, I just wish there was a bit more info prior to ordering).

Im going to send you another mag tube we had made to try out first, its in the mail as of 10 mins ago, it will work on your shotguns as I just tried it on mine and mine shows the same amount of threads as the one in you pick
try it out and then send us back whatever does not work, one of the 2 will

Had it out this past weekend and was pretty disappointed. The new mag extension is a smaller diameter than the mag cap. This causes the mag extension to miss the detent that locks it in and prevents it from coming loose. The extension will become dangerously loose after only 5 shots. I was advised I should buy a barrel clamp to fix the problem.
