Hatsan MPA cycling issue?

Hey Everyone, just to bring a happy ending to this story. I ended up contacting Bell Outdoors, the current Hatsan importer and they got me in touch with their gunsmith who does warentee work. With an extreamly fast turn around time I had my Hatsan MPA back in my hands and it seems to cycle the challenger 7.5 with no problem! It still doesn't like the #4 Canadian tire brand but I can now shoot challenger with no issue.

If you have a problem with your Hatsan I recommend getting in touch with Bell Outdoors, their gunsmith is a great guy to deal with.

Issue resolved.

I had the same problem until I checked the schematics for the gas assembly - it had been put together in the wrong order.

It came (from the factory) with spring, rubber o-ring, piston, in that order (from the rear toward the front of the gun). The correct order is spring, piston, o-ring.

Once I put it together in the right order, it has cycled everything from the lightest target loads on up.

If I get a chance tonight I'll take some pictures. I'm heading to the range tomorrow, and need to put in some garage time getting a few things ready.

This is the same problem I had with mine. seems odd that the factory cant even put an 0 ring in the right place. Pretty lame.

Did they tell you what work was done?

my mpa worked very nice with reduced recoil slugs and 00 and no.4 buck. not one failure. very happy with mine and thinking of getting raider version since i've seen a lot of apparent issues with sa15 alpharms, which i was gonna get.

I am also happy with mine. It cycles everything even my wax slugs/ 7/8 shot / to reduced SB slug loads.

Also punished it with heavy turkey and fed 1 3/8 loads.

I like mine. I also have some high end shot guns for comparison.
