I had my MPA out on the weekend and put some slugs through it for the first time (has seen about 150 rounds of target load and a few 00 buck).

I'm not sure if it was the cold and/or dirty but it was failing to feed constantly. It's hard to see in the video but I am hitting the charging handle forwards. Also, the shell lifter wasn't going down all the way so I couldn't even hit that to release the bolt.

Need bit of info ..

When last cleaned gas port .. ?
What condition is O-ring in .. ?
O-ring in correct position ..? ( Some youtube vids are advising incorect placement that would allow gas blow by )

If target loads were NP ( reduced pressure ) one would think the increased pressure of a 00 buck or factory slug would cycle the unit better than the light loads .. points to a o-ring in the wrong place, damaged, or dirty gas port as a simple solution if not a cold/lube/carbon problem.

Make sure the piston slides freely on the mag tube and that it moves easily into the gas collar. It may require some fitting.
Depending on the age of your gun it would probably covered under warranty.

Someone from the distributer actually contacted me and put me in touch with their warranty department. I will keep this thread updated after I speak to them (hopefully tomorrow if my schedule allows it).

Can you let us know?

My MPA does the same thing under normal temps but only with target loads.

O-Ring is fine but I ordered a new one anyway (spare).

Does this on maybe 2 of 10 birdshot.

Buck and slugs always cycle 100%.

if any one need more o rings we have a few 100 in stock, they don,t seem to last as long on the hatsan as they do on the rem 11-87

I don't think the mag tube has anything to do with it as the bolt is not fully cycling. I have the info for sending it into warranty but want to try it out once more to hopefully avoid having to pay shipping and be without my gun for a bit.

With light loads like Gun Club, the Hatsan will work as long as you hold it with a very tight lockup. Limp wrist it and you get malfunctions.
Solid lockup and they cycle very well.

Yeah, different story then. Something is wrong...inspected the o-ring? Probably...gas system and port clean?

They certainly appear to be a pretty good gun...never did shoot any heavy ammo in one though.

shooting slugs out of em is a hoot, mine cycles flawlessly so far (knock wood) I find it kicks a lot more than my 870 and you would think it would be opposite but nope! have you taken it completely apart cleaned the crap out of it and tried again? and if I am not mistaken it comes with a spare o-ring when new!

I've never been able to cycle target loads. Buck and slugs, no problem. I don't see a problem with the o-ring. I've cleaned it a bunch of times. Still won't cycle the light loads.

I finally shipped it out and it showed up at the gunsmith today. Piston is fixed already and I should have it back in my hands by the weekend. The gunsmith said he put target load, game load, and full power slugs through it without any issues.
