Took my MPA out the other day just to get more familiar with it. I live in rural BC so lots of predators come across my property. I haven't had a chance to really get comfortable with this shotgun it yet so I put a few rounds of birdshot, 00 buck and some Dominion Arms ball slugs through it. Ranges from 10 to 25m. Results with birdshot were predictable and spread was what was expected (although extraction and cycling were less then desirable), 00 buck was good group but was low and the DA slugs sucked in this gun. Point of impact vs point of aim was at least 8" low at less then 25m. The sights aren't adjustable and the fibre optic front sight does not lend well to good old hold over adjustment on the fly.

My DA grizzly mag fed like crap but I knew I could get a group at 60m with slugs and at least get on target at 100m. 00 buck was point and shoot at the distances I needed too

Ideas, suggestions? Other experiences and fixes from CGNers who own MPAs.

Thanks in advance

Have you considered mounting a optic? Red dot or a holographic sight could be zeroed for a particular load easier than modifying the open sights.

To be honest I never even used my open sights yet, I have a cheap bushnell red dot on mine for now, gonna upgrade this winter maybe. But I should really see where the open sights are hitting JIC for backup.

Which MPA did you get? The one I got came with a rear rail and rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation.

With shotguns, zeroing can be a bit tough, because all the different types of shot can have wildly different velocities, and therefore different POI at various ranges.

Should have the above mentioned adjustable rear rail sight on that gun, no?
I personally had a tough time zeroing in my old MP pump with slugs.

It does have the rail and the front is fibre optic. I did not see a way of adjusting elevation on the front sight post but then again I didn't look to hard. I was trying to pack up as a storm was rolling in....lol
