I didn't think there was a difference, but I was looking at some a sponsor has for sale. Both are the same color, barrel length, etc. The only thing I can see that's different is the price. It's small, but there is a $45 difference in price tag between the two.

The treads at the end of the mag tube are different lengths so if you want to get an extension you need to make sure you get the right one that fits.
I believe the Optima's stock cap and tube allows 5 rounds with the hunting plug removed and the Escort is not quite long enough to fit the 5th.

I thought extensions for optima/escort were the same, it was the semi vs pump that determined the thread?

The guns themselves are exactly the same otherwise.

Same factory or closely related. Some photos from their stock walnut storage

Here's an old post from Badboybeeson on the subject,
Ok a little info here
If you have an Hatsan MPA semi auto and the box says Hatsan "escort" MPA and the frame is marked escort magnum.
Then it has one style of mag tube threading, of it says " hatsan optima" mpa then it is another
at this time we have
+2 mag tubes for the escort MPA
and +1 mag tubes for the Hatsan(Optima) mpa
The hatsan(Optima) mpa has a longer factory tube and needs more threading then the escort.
Anyone with better info feel free to post In this thread

Thanks, he only mentions MPA model which is semi though not the MP or Aimguard models. Maybe the same rules apply to them as well?

I don't know about the pumps but the OP was asking if there was a difference between the MPA semi auto Escorts and Optima's.

Here she is! This is the dealers pic (and probably the exact gun!):

Going to need a recoil pass on it if I am going to shoot any kind of volume. Damn shoulders sore! I'm a wuss I guess.

Very nice, you'll get used to the recoil. Lean into it. Own it.

Although, they are a light gun so I believe that lends to it having quite a solid punch to it.

On my MP, I added a slip on pad because the stock one is just a tiny, thin, hard piece of rubber.
The pad on yours looks better, I haven't used or seen a TS stock in person to know for sure.

My recoil pad adds about an inch and half to the LOP, but it feels great because of the Hatsan's short stroke action.
It gives the shooter two places to grip the forend. I hold the forend in the grooves closest to the receiver. So comfortable. Very well balanced.

I most definitely need the practice. It's my first shotgun! Thanks for the advice. I'll have to try gripping the fore stock differently too.

I filled my stock with lead target shot then sealed it in with cocking(stock bolt and nut still removable). It added about 3/4 pound to the entirely hollow stock. No more issues with a sore shoulder
