Is anyone familiar with the Hatsan line of shotguns. For the price they seem pretty fair. I was looking at a semi-auto tactical set up the other day and was wondering about the quality or any other issues anyone may have had with them. thanks for any info....Russelld

I was in the same boat as you.. was debating if it was worth buying or not. I handles one but never shot one. Felt good.. finish is decent. But quality wasn't as good as the Mossbergs or Remingtons. If you looking to upgrade parts and what not, that will be your biggest issue trying to find accessories for it.

I've got the escort pump by hatsan, its awesome! easy takedown, easy to put back together, Shoots great! I like it better than the mossberg! If you can find a dealer you can find accessories. Have fun

I've got the escort magnum 20ga version. It's decent for what I paid for it! Mine is a youth model and it has a nicely figured Turkish walnut stock on it too! For $200 bucks off the clearance rack at bass pro it was a deal and a half!

OK, I lied. Last time I was out, the hatsan is busted. The action arm is busted out of the rail and the whole gun is fubar'd. It was shooting kent TM.

We have a semi-auto Escort and a pump version that have both had a lot of mods done to them. The semi-auto has eaten about 14-15K rounds so far and still runs like a sewing machine. It eats a few hundred rounds a month at LE demos and whatnot and keeps on ticking. Fast cycling gun too, one of the popular things that folks like for me to do at these demos is to shoot 8 rounds in just over a second (usually right at 1.25 seconds). Good gun and I'd highly recommend them.

Here's a video of an 8rd dump at night using heavy game loads (these are hard to shoot fast because the recoil is a little too much to do quick trigger work with). Still fast cycling though
