Hi guys, I WTB a 12ga tactical semi and I dunno what to choose between those three.

My 3 choices are :

- New Hatsan Optima/Escort MPA
- Used Remington 1100 tactical
- Used Mossberg 930 SPX

I must say I wont use it that much so I don't want to spend too much on this, lets say about 700$.

I know the Hatsan is maybe not in the same class but I think its not a bad choice.

Let me know what you think...

I own a hatsan mpa-ta have handled and shot the rem 1100 and no experiance with te mossy
With my experiance I can see no reason why one would spen te extra money on the rem 1100 nothing wrong with the rem but the hatsan does everything the 1100 can and honestly I like the looks and ergo of the hatsan better.
Just one mans opinion!

The biggest difference of the top of my head I can think of is the tang mounted safety and the way you eject shells in the magazine tube on the 930.

Tang mounted safety is simple, and ambidextrous.

To unload shells from the magazine tube, you push the elevator in and press the bolt release. Each press of the bolt release with release 1 shell from the tube. I really love this and I wish more manufacturers would do this.

Now unless they've changed something, I believe the 1100, to release the bolt after shooting dry, you need to press up on the elevator.

I should add that I do love the 930SPX. It's balanced (18.5" barrel) light (alum receiver) and I find it very soft to shoot. The handguard does get abit in the way when you are doing deuce and quadloads (not to be confused with toilet antics)

That being said, I just put money on a Benelli 3 gun Edition with some custom bits :)

Very few ever made it into Canada.

Even though all they had to do was take the extension off and it would be Canadian compliant, but they have shown zero interest in that.

I was lucky enough to snag one of 10 that Milarm in Edmonton had received.

Barrel index is perfect and showed no signs of the QC issues that were prevalent in the early run of 930 SPX's.

I am very certain that if you were dead set on one, you could get a third party importer to bring one in for you.

Reloading the Hatsan is sometimes a bit of a pain due to the FAST loading system where you have to depress the inner loading gate before the main one will move. I think my annoyance is due mostly to the unfamiliarity with the setup. I don't think this will be much of an issue unless you're using it for competition.

It gets much easier with practice. I've had mine a couple years now and I'm pretty quick at it now.

To the OP, if you're not gonna use the gun that much, then buy the hatsan and spend the leftover $200 on ammo :)
