Here's yet another picture of an Albanian Mauser, this time in action in Kosovo. The lack of cleaning rod makes me think this guy's ready(and probably willing) to use the bayonet.

You mean over the rod? Not on my Czech...Nyles said:Not necessarily, the bayonet mounts over the bayonet, and the cleaning rod was removed as matter of course for scrap steel.

John Sukey said:I believe the UN is surplus and should be destroyed since its useless.
At least get the bastards out of New York and to the Hague or better yet, france. Lets see all those tiny countries try to get property in Paris! Not to mention it would drive the gendarrmes crazy with all the unpaid parking tickets.![]()

JP said:The Russians removed the cleaning rods on the Mausers when they rebuilt them, but sometimes the cleaning rods are removed by the importer. Let say a large group of guns is imported and half are missing cleaning rods, slings, lanyard rings or whatever the importer will removed all of them to avoid complaints from customers who receive a gun with the missing part.
JP said:I am trying to get new items, but the importers are very secretive and I can't get a clear response from them yet. But look for new items appearing on the market in about 6 months to a year from now.
