But chambered in .223, with a heavy barrel and a magazine?

All I have seen is one in a .223 and a single shot.

So far I have only seen them listed at some US dealers and on Gunbroker. This one is in the blued finish.

Not sure, but the number off of the box in the last photo may help your dealer find out more about them as well as possibly order one.

Us Models

The grey laminate ones are US models only.

I've been trying to get one for months now and even Savage Canada can't get them in.

The brown laminate that started this thread is a Savage 12BTVS. They are the Canadian version. They come in .223 and .22-250 with an internal magazine not a clip.

They run for just under $1000... that is... if you can find one. They get gobbled up pretty quick.
