Is there someone around who will make a composite stock by taking a mold from your wood stock? I am considering having some custom work done to a BSA majestic ,re-stocking being one item, but nobody seems to list a replacement stock for one. What are my options.

Composite/laminated stocks are made the way plywood is made. Layers glued together under pressure. You might find a stock maker who can make a synthetic though.

Look for a maker with a pantograph. It should not make too muck difference whether the blank is made of wood or laminated in layers, the cutter(s) will follow the contours of the stock being duplicated.

speaking of stock, I am looking of replacing my synthetic stock (super nova w/pistol grip) to a collapsable stock to cater my LOP,or thinking of shortening my existing stock, can any body suggest where or who is making one? or maybe who can do the job? thanks

Composite stock adaption.

You might also start by measuring the guard screw spacing etc. on your BSA and then start looking at composite stocks that are made for other actions for similar spacing, magazine well location etc. With bedding compounds and fiber glass you can adapt some stocks to fit actions other than what they are intended for originally. With careful fitting and finish it should be undetectable IF you can find a suitable stock to use as a base.

talk to Ian at Robertson Composites. If he does not have a pattern to inlet for your desired stock then you may be able to ship him your barreled action and he can then do one up for you. I had a build on a left hand Montana 1999 heavy barrel done up that way. When i got the stock back the barreled action dropped in perfectly.
I think that most any bolt action hunting rifle can fit into their general purpose hunting stock. best part it is right here in Canada. I would highly recommend giving him a call or email through their website.

thanks, mabee my terminology was wrong, what I would want is a synthetic stock such as rimrock or wildcat ect. So they would need my barrell and action and then fit it to a stock blank? I guess I was thinking they might be able to make a form using my wood stock then use it to pour a synthetic one.I am going to guess it would be too cost prohibitive anyhow based on that regular stocks for remingtons and winchesters are already around $5-600 with a cool paint job.

You guessed right, unless you are willing to pay the cost of making the stock mold, it would be cheaper to modify an existing design than to make a one-off.
If the stock had potential for commercial sales they might consider it but I don't see BSA stocks being a huge seller.
