So I've been trying to develop a good load for my Husqvarna 30-06, I tried first with the woodliegh 180gr ppsn. It would not shoot accurately, now I tried some loads with Speer grand slam and it is no good either. what I'm wondering is would it be worth it to try a different powder? All the loads have been with H4350. Also should I try changing the primer?
Basically id like to hear what you think I should try, id be fine if I can get under 2" 1.5" would be great. I'm sure the rifle is capable, actually I know it is as federal blue box does it but how to do it with a reload?

Try flat based bullets in different weights - say 150/165/200 grainers. If you cant get the rifle to tune to some weight, then you've got other problems such as bedding or scope...

Take some black electrical tape, duct tape, or some thin leather, and build up a pressure point in the barrel channel right above the front sling swivel. Start with about 1/8" and see how that works, go a bit higher if you need to but not too much. You want the stock to be pushing up on the barrel enough so it's firm and you can't wiggle the barrel around in the stock.
Try your same loads again and I bet you will see an immediate improvement.

It might be worth trying the same bullet weight as the Federal blue box as an exercise in consistency.
Are you using brass of all one brand (ideally, lot as well)?

The fact that the factory loads shoot well, makes it obvious that you just haven't tried a bullet/powder combination that it likes. Try different powders, and different bullet weights or styles.

I could be wrong but the Husky could be 1/12 twist
try some 150/165/168 in it
vld in the higher bullet weights could be bad

check barrel free float
check bedding

Not sure if you have cleaned it well,it might have a fair bit of copper build up in it also.
Just something else to try .
