Having trouble with Canuck shotgun shell stop.

I've got a Canuck Commander shotgun. Everything seemed to generally be working well. Last few times I had it out I was single-feeding it though so it's possible this issue was around a while. Anyway, I went ahead and added an RX Arms + 1 extension. This involved cutting off a couple threads of the magazine tube on the muzzle end to remove the tapered portion of the tube. Also replaced the follower while I was in there.

After re-assembling I am having feed problems due to the shell stop. It does not seem to be reliably releasing the shell, the shell seems to end up cocked every so slightly and catching the stop. I disassembled and the shell stop seems to clear just fine with the action bars removed but with the action bars in position it doesn't quite hide out of the way fully enough.

It really just seemed too proud so I assumed it must've gotten a slight bend somehow. I filed off some material from the shell stop where it was interfering and this has helped somewhat. However it still binds quite often on the second shot.

Is it reasonable to file more material? Is there something obvious I could be missing here? I didn't see anything wedged in the shell stop and the spring seems to be functioning.

To add:
I've tried restoring the original follower, no difference.

Tried getting some fluid film under the shell stop no effect. After filing some material it always works on the last shot loaded into the magazine (aka first out). But after cycling it seems like the shell stop never "lets go".

Would a video be helpful?

Update: I removed the shell stop and filed slightly more material off and also smoothed some of the other filing with some finer sandpaper.

On first test it cycled my dummy rounds perfectly so that's a positive sign. Going to give it a little clean up and more oil and test again tomorrow.
