Hi, Im looking at options for a new scope. I ran across a
Brand of scope ive never heard of. HAWKE. I have not seen any bad internet reviews
on their kit yet.
Im looking at a 8-32 x 56 sidewinder 30 with the SR12 IR reticle. (Model HK 4016)

My first impression upon holding the scope was quite good. Clarity seemed better than any other scope i presently own, and it let in alot of light.

I plan on using it on my .243 Win. Rem 700.

Does anyone have any input on their quality or durability.

The local shop has one for 699 cdn

There's been some reviews of the Sidewinder Tactical on snipershide, it seems to get fairly positive reviews overall. You might want to check out the optics forum on that site as Hawke products don't seem to be as plentiful in Canada.

Hawke

My bud has one of those on his 20 Extreme and it has worked well with all of our range trips. I have a couple of the 6-24 SF varmin models on a couple of my rifles and for the money they are tough to beat. FS

I have a Sidewinder tactical 8.5-25 on my 17hmr a 4-16 SF varmit on my 22rimfire and 6-24 Sidewinder 30 on my 204. I am very pleased with them , they have fairly good glass for the money and they all track well and are repeatable. The only conplaint I have is that the Sidewinders are a little on the heavy side.

FYI- you can purchase direct from Hawke Optics in USA,they can ship direct to you no problems as they have applicable licenses/ permits to do so. I have purchased 2 models from them this way. You may want to call them up and check for yourself, maybe better pricing.
