Heading out to the range with my new Savage FV-SR. Now Tacticool-ed

Well, the typical lower mainland liquid sunshine made the targets rather fragile, but needless to say this is an impressive little rifle. One thing that struck me as odd though, at 50 yards the subsonic CCIs werent on the paper, other brands of normal and hyper velocity were printing normally. Where did my subsonics go?

Ive got a Boyds Tacticool stock with the custom 14.5 " LOP on order, i'm 6'4 and i have a hard time getting a comfortable hand position on the factory stock, but only a year or so pulling triggers I am always looking to improve. All with Federal Standard Velocity.

Federal Standard Velocity? Do you mean CCI Standard Velocity or Federal Champion or Gold Medal? My FV-SR loves the CCI Standard Velocity but I can't find any lately How are you getting the Tacticool as Boyd's won't ship them up here?

You just ordered a Boyd's "TactiCool" stock and they sent it to you? It says right on their homepage that the "TactiCool" cannot be exported And BTW the limit is now $500 but they still won't export the "TactiCool" http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/product.htm?pid=46985&cat=1215 as it says in large red letters right on this page "International orders will not be processed"

Fourth box in from the right, it said Standard Velocity on the end of the box, no fps listed IIRC.

Well he was wrong about the $100 limit so he is likely wrong about the first. Likely he ordered it prior to it being deemed not for export. I read some threads where that stock used to be ok. But then again I may be wrong too. I just bought a TRR-SR to steal the stock for my FV-SR.

Ahhh, the Federal Champion. I've never had a lot of luck with that ammo though it is well priced. I don't think I ever tried it in my FV-SR though. Maybe somebody has some of that
