So sadly even though my Israeli K98 is insanely accurate, I seem to have a headspacing issue. I noticed after firing a round the bolt was pretty tough to open. I was hoping it was just in need of a cleaning. But when I bought a set of snap caps I noticed the bolt was tough to close and there were scratches in the snap caps. The scratches are where the neck meet the shoulder of the case and only in two spots (not all the ay around).

Now sadly I don't live in Williams Lake anymore so I dont know any gunsmiths here in Quesnel. I'm hoping it wouldn't be too expensive to get done as I love this rifle and how accurate it is.

Why do you think you have a headspace problem? What you describe doesn't really make it a headspace problem... Are you reloading or shooting factory ammo?

.
This sounds more like crap in the chamber rather than a headspace problem. It might also be a rough area on the locking lugs or receiver ring, or even the chamber might be a bit pitted or rough. Some polishing in that area might help.

When you cleaned it, did you use BrakeKleen or something like that on the bolt? Check to see if there is any oil on the cocking piece/sear, as a little will help.
Probably best to answer Dennis' question too.

Headspacing issues does not make a bolt hard to extract. Rough chamber or hot loads do.
I've owned in the past 3 Israeli K98's and have noticed the the headspace is NATO spec.

Option 1: set barrel back & cut chamber
Option 2: re-chamber to 30,06 & notch action
Option 3: 7.62 x39 chamber adapter
Option 4: Re-barrel in what caliber you desire

I would go with #1 or just sell the rifle to someone who will.
