heard back from SWFA today!

sent email to SWFA over weekend about interest in a scope.
I am looking into doing some long range shooting, I am new so I will be slowly learning

anyways, I emailed SWFA about their 12x42 ss scope.
so I was quoted $368.78 USD shipping included.
dollar is 1.28 today.
that's $472.05 Canadian + HST = $533.42 Canadian.

I have no idea what duty will be and wondering if all this xtra cost is actually worth this scope.
I have read some great reviews and even some on here speak highly of SWFA SS scopes.

thoughts and opinions would be great.

You're looking at a fixed power scope, maybe check out SWFA's other models if you want to reach out further.....unless of course your eyes are awesome and 12x is good enough for 1,000m+
 
that is $70 us for shipping, I would love a another 16x or even a 20x MRad Reticle with Mil turrets but not at $70 for shipping. I have a SWFA 10x I would love to swap for more power like a 12X,16X or 20X.

Note: there was no Duty But UPS will hit you for brokerage fees. That 5-15x40 Bushnell is a good deal if you like Bushnell. when your getting to the 533+ dollar mark your into Leupold & close to Sightron SII BigSky.

Bushnell, burris, vortex...etc means nothing if I can't sjoot.
So at this point something i can use for 100 to 500 would be good.

The bushnell is second focal and 1" tube.
FFP, 30mm tube or fixed is better right?

Can u tell im new to the rifle lol?
 
BTW, why is there duty on swfa?
This product is American manufacturer.
Other than taxes...according to NAFTA
All products assembled in U.S or Canada are duty free.
Or am I wrong!
 
it is not American made or sold in America, But I wasn't charged duty by CBSA the scope is made in Japan, I'll send you a video explaining optics & target shooting
