Heavy Barrel 10/22

I'm planning to put a heavy contour barrell on my 10/22 at the start of the slippery slope of adding goodies. Does anyone have any recommendations? What are the Butler Creek barrels like? Wher is the best place to buy in Canada or do I have to import and if so, how?
 
rimfiresports has the GM barrels but they are sold out right now and have been less than adequate in communicating the delay and reasons with me.

gungoodies has the Clerke barrels - always great service.

Price is comparable between the two. This will be my first GM barrel if I don't cancel my order; I have had several Clerkes in the past.

Rimfiresports is a one man operation run out of his house. On top of his small business he has a full time job. His hands are usually bound pretty tightly.
 
Consider selling your 10/22 and buying a target model to replace it. Best bang for the buck as you get the big barrel, better trigger, stock with big barrel channel in it and they're very accurate. 2 cents.

Yeah I know, but his email replies have been quite late, IF they even make it to me :confused: I would just like to know why I was told 7-14 days and we are now into week three and nobody knows anything yet and contacted me to let me know the status. I asked Gerry (willwagspal) but he didnt have the exact barrel I wanted so I had to go elsewhere (next time i will compromise on the barrel and get good service from Gerry rather than get lackluster service and no barrel at all).

I am in the same boat right now with rimfiresports..... have a Tac-Sol barrel on back order as well as a VQ hammer/Sear set, going on week 3 and am wondering what the story is.

on the flip side I have had very good responses from hawktech and he will bring in anything you ask of him. I got good response in regards to a OD green houge stock and he seems willing to bring other items in on an as neded basis.

I ordered from Rimfire and Hawktech at the same time. I actually recieved my parts from Hawktech withing a week and BEFORE I found out that my parts from Rimfire would be backordered until AUGUST (not the 7-14 days)... But hey, if the mfger won't give the info to the dealers, the dealers are in an awkward place.
